21 Oct 2012 - Day 3: Nambung National Park, The Pinnacles

From the map, the shortest route to The Pinnacles is by the coastal road (Indian Ocean Drive).  However, half way through the journey, we realized that our GPS had routed us to the Brand Highway, which is a much longer detour.  As a consolation, because of that, we got to pass by the Emu Down Wind Farm along Bibbly Road.
The Pinnacles is located within Nambung National Park.  As we had gone to Yanchep National Park earlier, we did not have to pay the park entrance again.  This place is amazing and I had never seen such landscape before.  I am surprised that they allow cars to drive through the rocks in the park, even on 2-wheels drive.  We normally view limestone rocks in a cave but here, it's all over the place.  What a sight!  We drove one round (4km) through the park before visiting the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre.
The Discovery Centre contains information of the Pinnacles and surrounding Nambung National Park.
After spending sometimes there, we decided to take another drive through the Pinnacles before moving on to Geraldton, where our accommodation was tonight.
Because of the detour earlier and spending more time than expected in the Pinnacles, we reached our accommodation at around 8pm.  After putting down our luggage in our room, we went to a nearby KFC to buy some dinner back.  After a long drive today, I finally got to rest for the day.
But before that, Jerlene had a surprise for me.  She actually drew our family in the limestone cave where we went earlier in the day.  I love it, Jerlene!
