21 Oct 2012 - Day 3: Yanchep National Park, Crystal Cave

We started our Western Australia Coastal drive today.  Our first stop was Yanchep National Park.  This was originally not in my plan but since we all woke up early today, we felt that we should have sufficient time to cover this place.  Yanchep National Park is about an hour drive from Perth City.  We reached there at about 10:30am.  We bought tickets for the cave tour which starts in about 30mins time.  As the cave is just 5 mins away, we spent a while by the lake.  We were told that if we were here earlier, there will be wild kangeroos roaming around.

We went to the Cave Tour entrance 5 mins before the tour starts.  This cave is called the Crystal Cave.  As the name implies, there were really crystals in the cave.  This is the first time Jerlene and Javier went into a cave.  When I told Jerlene that we are going into a cave, she asked:"Are we going into the butterfly cave like Dora the explorer?"

The tour was slightly less than an hour.  After the tour, Javier started asking for food and fresh milk.  So we all had a lunch break outside the cave before driving to our next destination, The Pinnacles.
