13 May 2013 - Hong Kong Day 2: Chef Mickey Breakfast and Disneyland

We bought Chef Mickey breakfast today, hoping that we can see him.  Unfortunately, he did not turn up.  Anyway the kids still enjoyed the breakfast as the waffles and cakes were made into Mickey's face.
After breakfast, we went straight to the bus bay to wait for the shuttle to Disneyland.  As we did not play many rides due to the crowd yesterday, we will have to make it up today.
We were relieved when we reached the park.  The number of people compared to yesterday was greatly reduced.  We downloaded a Hong Kong Disneyland iPhone app, whereby we need to search for sign boards with a QR code.  Once we located the sign board, we can then use the app to scan the QR code, which will unlock cartoon characters within the app.  At the park entrance, we were given a park map with star symbols showing where all these sign boards are located throughout the park.  After explaining to Jerlene and Javier, they were very eager to help me find the sign boards.  Especially Javier, he will shout to me "Daddy daddy got a star here!" whenever he saw a star.....any star!!!!  Haha........
As we passed by Mickey's PhilharMagic 4D show, Javier wanted to watch it again.  He was telling me how Donald Duck was and etc etc.....  There was not much queue and we just need to wait for the next show.
Then Jerlene suggested that we go to a newly opened area, Toy Story Land.  We wanted to go yesterday evening but the pathway was closed from Fantasyland to Toy Story land in preparation for the fireworks.  And we did not know that there is another way there from Adventureland.
Here we saw many familiar characters from the Toy Story animation.  The children went wild when they saw these characters.
One bad thing about today was that it was scorching hot.  As such, we went into a gift shop to hide from the sun and took a rest.  Jerlene enjoyed trying out the different head dress.
There is a ride called the Slinky Dog Spin.  It was a mild roller coaster ride that goes round and round, up and down.  Initially we thought the kids would not dare to take it.  To our surprise, they enjoyed it and kept asking for more.  We had to tell them that we will come back later before they were willing to leave this place.  We then walked back to Fantasyland and tried out the Mad Hatter Tea Cup.
Next we went to "It's a Small World" boat ride.  In this ride, we set sail on an imaginary journey around the world and experience the joy and wonder of creatively costumed dolls, elaborate sets and unforgettable music.  The song "It's a small world" was sung throughout the ride and in different languages.  After the ride, my two little angels kept asking me to sing to them, and in DIFFERENT languages!  *Faint*
We proceeded to Tomorrowland which we have missed totally yesterday.  First we went to the Stitch Encounter show.  It was very funny and the technology used was great.  We had our lunch at a nearby food outlet after the show.  We had no issue finding a place to sit today.  Another ride that we took multiple times is the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.  There was no queue and we just went in straight to the ride.
For today, the place where we spent most of our time in the park is UFO Zone.  It is a playground where you can get real wet if you want.  And my angels did exactly that.  They were totally soaked after spending more than an hour running around this place.  Fortunately we brought along some extra clothing but we forgot to bring extra socks.
After we changed them, we continued to locate the remaining sign boards in the park and as we passed by "It's a small world", they requested to take the boat ride again.  This time round, they insisted me to sing through the ride.  Before the sky turned dark, we went back to Toy Story Land as promised and went onto the Slinky Dog Spin ride again.  By then, we were just one hour from the fireworks extravaganza.  On weekday, it starts an hour earlier at 8pm.  The fireworks were superb and combined with Disney soundtrack was fantastic.
It's time to bid goodbye to Disneyland.  It was a great day for all of us and definitely unforgettable for the little ones.
