31 May 2016 - Hong Kong Day 6: DisneyLand Part 2

Good morning HK!  Nice view from our room!
We bought a 2-days pass to Disneyland.  So after we had our breakfast, we took the free shuttle bus to the park.  This is the third time that we came to HK Disneyland and finally we managed to go on the Autopia ride, and we took it twice!
There are 2 new attractions in Disneyland since we last came.  First is the Fairy Tale Forest which we had entered yesterday.  The other new attraction is the stage performance called "Mickey and the Wondrous Book".  It had replaced the "Golden Mickey" show that we saw previously.  It was an amazing show with superb stage props and music.
Here is a video of our Autopia ride and "Mickey and the Wondrous Book" stage performance.
The weather did not change much from yesterday.  It was HOT HOT HOT!  In fact, Javier had been unwell since morning.  By noon, he was having fever and we decided to go Tung Chung to buy fever medicine and have our lunch.
Javier felt much better after taking the medicine.  We rested for a while and returned to Disneyland by evening.
By this time, most of the rides did not have queue as most visitors were gathered at the park central waiting for the fireworks.  We took the Jungle River Cruise when the surrounding had already turned dark and the experience was quite different from taking it during the day.  Then we rushed to Toy Story Land hoping to have a final Slinky Dog ride but we were late by a minute.  However, we managed to take the last Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, which was our first time attempting this ride.  By that time, all the rides in Toy Story Land were closed.  We proceeded to FantasyLand and we were fortunate to be able to catch the last "Mickey's PhilharMagic" 3-D show of the day.
After the show, we took a ride on Cinderella Carousel, which was probably the only ride that was still operating at that time.
We then walked back to the Main Street for the firework display before bidding farewell to HK Disneyland.

30 May 2016 - Hong Kong Day 5: Tung Chung, Hollywood Hotel

As the weather is really hot, we decided to leave Disneyland early and go to Tung Chung (东涌) for dinner.  This is the place where we stayed during our past 2 trips to Hong Kong.  We love the roasted meat and soup in 大家乐.
After dinner, we had coffee and snacks at McCafe.
We shopped around CityGate Outlets for a while before taking the MTR back to Hollywood Hotel.  As it's already pretty late, we had almost the entire Disney MTR train all to ourselves.
Since we had already done the registration in the hotel earlier in the afternoon, we simply got to collect our room keys from the reception counter without having to queue.  We then collected our luggage from the concierge and proceed to our room.  This is the second time that we stayed in this hotel.  Everything looked so familiar to us.

30 May 2016 - Hong Kong Day 5: Tsui Wah Breakfast, DisneyLand Part 1

Before checking out of our hotel, we went to Tsui Wah (翠华) for breakfast.  This is probably the last time in this trip to have traditional HK breakfast,
After checking out, we took MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui to Sunny Bay station, which is an interchange station between the Tung Chung Line and the Disneyland Resort Line to Hong Kong Disneyland.  As our Hollywood Hotel room was not ready, we left our luggage at the concierge and took the shuttle bus to Disneyland.

As this is our third time visiting HK Disneyland in as many years, we have already tried most of the rides (except those extremely thrilled ones).  This time round there is actually a new attraction, Fairy Tale Forest.
We took a walk through this whimsical storybook garden featuring classic Disney fairy tales.
Throughout the garden, there are interactive displays featuring scenes from Disney's animation movies.
We did not stay in the garden for too long because the weather was "burning".  We then went to Jerlene and Javier's all time favourite ride, Slinky Dog Spin, in Toy Story Land.
In order to get away from the hot weather, we decided to take the indoor cruise "it's a small world".
Here's a video showing some highlights of the day.

29 May 2016 - Hong Kong Day 4: Stanley, 正斗@IFC Mall, Hoi Kee Walnut Place

From the Central (Exchange Square) Bus Terminus, we took bus service 260 to Stanley (赤柱).
This is the iconic Boathouse, overlooking Stanley Bay.  It used to be blue in colour.
Beside Stanley Plaza is Tin Hau Temple (天后宫), built in 1767.
We had a nice view from the main street waterfront.
Having fun climbing on rock formation along Stanley Bay.
We walked one round in Stanley Market before taking the citybus back to Central.
The bus journey will pass by Repulse Bay (浅水湾) and Deep Water Bay (深水湾).
Once we were back at Central Bus Terminal, we decided to find a restaurant in IFC Mall to have our dinner.
Looking through the list of eating places that we have prepared for this trip, we decided on 正斗, which is famous for its Congee and Wantun Noodle.
After dinner, we took the Star Ferry back to Tsim Sha Tsui and..........
It's dessert time!   We had our dessert at Hoi Kee Walnut Place (海記合桃坊) along Lock Street.
Javier loves the rice balls below and refused to share with us.
This place is famous for its Walnut paste (沙沙核桃糊).  *Thumbs Up*
