7 Jun 2017 - Copenhagen Day 2: Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli Gardens is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. The park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world. Our 1st stop at Tivoli Gardens was the gourmet popcorn stall near the entrance. We bought 2 large bags of flavored popcorn – cotton candy and lime. Javier loved the cotton candy flavored popcorn and finished the whole bag by himself even before we left tivoli gardens that night.
We walked around the amusement park without going on any of the rides as it was drizzling.  Furthermore, our Copenhagen cards only allow us to enter the park for free.  All the rides in the park are charged separately.
While we were waiting for the Tivoli Illuminations at the Tivoli Lake to start at 2200hrs, it began to rain heavier. The daily Tivoli Illuminations is a fantastic lighting show that creates a dream universe with colors, music, lasers, fire, smoke and water.
After the show, we decided to stay a bit longer to wait for the fireworks.  While waiting, Jerlene and Javier kept themselves busy at the various playground around.
At 2245hrs sharp, we were presented with the fireworks show.  Apparently other than weekend, this show also runs every Wednesday, which happened to be today.
Once the fireworks ended, we made our way back to the hotel in the rain.
