31 Aug 2017 - Teacher's Day Lunch

Today is Teacher's Day.  As both school and student care centre were closed, I stayed home with them.  During lunch, we went to Seletar Mall and had their favourite Vietnamese meal for lunch.

26 Aug 2017 - Parent Child Teacher Conference (PCTC) 2017

We attended PCTC with Javier and his teachers this morning.  During the conference, Javier read to us about his Rosyth experience in both English and Chinese.  He seemed quite nervous during the session which was quite unexpected.  We had all this while thought that he will be very active during lessons but teacher said he is in fact pretty quiet.  However during group activities, he does participate actively within the group.  Overall, comments from the teachers about him were generally positive.

20 Aug 2017 - Javier's Abstract Art

Javier had a school assignment to draw an abstract art.  When asked what he understands about abstract art, he said it's to draw "something" using shapes that doesn't look like it but you know exactly what it is.  He refused to show me the one that he drew for his assignment.  Instead he drew another one (below) and showed me.  If you can figure out what he drew, it means you understand abstract art.....lol........
When I first looked at it, I told him it looks like Hobbiton, which he did not know how it looks like till I showed him the below picture.  :-)

19 Aug 2017 - Jerlene's 1st public Chinese Orchestra Performance

Today Jerlene had a Chinese Orchestra performance at Jalan Kayu 52nd National Day Dinner.
This was Jerlene's first public performance with her school's Chinese Orchestra.  Her school's principal actually came down to support them too.
They took several group photos just before the performance.
They played a total of three songs namely <<西北雨>>, <<我的未来不是梦>> and <<Di Tanjong Katong & Rasa Sayang>>.
I've compiled a video of the performance below.

17 Aug 2017 - A fun day at Adventure Cove Waterpark

It was a school holiday for primary schools today due to PSLE Oral examination.  Since student care was closed as well, we decided to bring the kids to Adventure Cove Waterpark at Resort World Sentosa.  We were joined by our ex-neighbour and that added another level of excitement for Jerlene and Javier.
Before we even entered Adventure Cove, the kids already started to have fun at the water fountain.
And here we went.......
This was our second visit to Adventure Cove.  Though Javier had met the minimum height for most of the slides this time round, he still preferred to focus his time in the lazy river and wave pool.  We had our lunch at the Bay Restaurant.
After lunch, we continued to spend most of our time at the Wave Pool.
It started raining in the late afternoon and all the attractions had stopped operating.  We waited at Bay Restaurant for the rain to lighten before getting ourselves changed.  Our dinner was at Din Tai Feng (鼎泰丰) and what a way to end our enjoyable day!

12 Aug 2017 - Enjoying our Mookata Dinner

As there is no Taekwando class tonight, we went to Hougang Green for a Mookata dinner.  Glad that both Jerlene and Javier like it very much considering they are very choosy with the food that they eat.  I can foresee we will be having more of Mookata dinner moving forward.

9 Aug 2017 - 富贵花开庆国庆 (Happy Birthday Singapore!)

HAPPY 52TH BIRTHDAY, SINGAPORE!

9 Aug 2017 - National Day Gathering for the kids!

After having a wonderful lunch with our ex-neighbour, Jerlene and Javier invited their friends to our house for some great fun.
They were having so much fun that they claimed today was one of the best day in a long long time.  :-)

8 Aug 2017 - Editing his own video using Movie Maker

In the past, Javier had always seek my help to edit his videos before uploading to his very own YouTube channel.  Today he requested me to teach him the "Art" of video editing.  He finally managed to edit all his newly created videos using Movie Maker for the very first time.
The following videos are all edited by himself without my supervision.  :-)
Now that he knows the basics of video editing, I think he really needs to improve on his video capturing skill.  :-P

8 Aug 2017 - Lower Primary Sports Day 2017 (Champion!)

Javier participated in his school's sport days this morning.  As usual, we were present at the school's multi purpose hall to give him our support.  He was full of joy at the end of the event because his house was the overall Champion!
It was really unexpected because according to Javier, during their practice session, they always ended up either 3rd or 4th.  So getting 1st was really a pleasant surprise!
Here's a video of how Javier performed during the events.  I must say he did really well.  I believe he thought the same too.....  :-)
