3 Dec 2018 - NZ Day 3: Nightingale Falls Horses and Waterfall Hike

We woke up very early this morning because we planned to do some hiking before checking out of this place.  As I stepped out of our cottage, two beautiful white horses caught my attention.
The bigger of the two horses is called Tiberius.
Jerlene and Javier had the opportunity to ride on the mighty Tiberius!  Look how happy they were.
After the close encounter with the horses, we got ourselves ready for the upcoming hike to Nightingale Falls!

Scott gave us a quick briefing on what to expect for the hike.  We then got onto his mountain truck to begin another adventure.
Coco followed us all the way down the hill from the cottage.  She's a smart dog and took a short cut to meet us at the gate eventually.
We arrived somewhere middle of the hill where we had the opportunity to feed some chickens.
There is actually a cottage here where Scott and his family are still in the midst of refurbishing it.  Once it's ready, they will welcome guests to stay here.  The surrounding here is totally different from that on top of the hill.
Next we started on the actual hike to the waterfall.
Initially we followed a trail but in order to get to the waterfall, we got to bash through some bushes.
After a final descent on a slippery slope, we finally reached the Nightingale Falls!  Let's celebrate our achievement with a nice family photo.  Great job, everyone!
Coco enjoyed "washing" herself in the water as well.
We did not stay here for too long as we need to rush off to Hobbiton in a while.
Here are our two little rangers.  What an accomplishment and a memorable adventure we had!
We took a last look of this wonderful place before leaving.
Thanks Scott and Spencer for their great hospitality.  We will be back when Jerlene and Javier are older to continue their training as a full-fledged ranger.  :-)
