One objective of visiting LaLaport tonight was to visit the Animate store which officially opened today!
It’s part of the mall’s dedicated “ACG Base” zone (Animation-Comics-Games) on L2, which also features other specialty stores and themed cafés.
The store brings the well-known Japanese chain store brand Animate (active in Japan since 1983) to Malaysia. As the first permanent branch of Animate in Malaysia, it’s a milestone for local anime/manga fans.
We expected a queue today due to the store's official opening. However, it did not take too long before we were allowed to enter the store.
Jerlene went wild to see so many of her favourite merchandises on the shelves.
There were still some empty shelves to be loaded with merchandises. Jerlene shortlisted a few items and we will return to get them after some research and consideration.
Next we visited the Pokémon Play Lab at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport. And this place made both Jerlene and Javier very excited.
Pokémon Play Lab is a themed experience space focusing on the world of the Pokémon TCG (Trading Card Game), merchandise, and interactive activities.
This is not just a store. The design and layout aim to immerse us in the Pokémon world.
