The scenery continued to mesmerize us as we slowly descended Mount Tateyama.
At one point, the driver stopped for a moment to fix the snow chain on the wheels for safety reason.The road then began to zigzag tightly as we descended deeper into the Tateyama cedar forest.
This section featured towering ancient trees shrouded in mist.
The descent from Murodo station was not just a ride down a mountain. It's a journey through Japan's vertical ecosystems. From bare alpine ridges to ancient forests, from volcanic rock to mossy wetlands, the landscape shifted dramatically with each bend of the road.
