As it was about 1:30pm when we left Nagoya Castle, we decided to have our lunch at the row of eateries where we saw earlier in the day. This unique ramen shop caught our attention.
Tsukemen (つけ麺) is a style of Japanese ramen where the noodles and soup are served separately, offering a unique, richly flavored, and customizable dining experience that’s distinct from traditional ramen. Tsukemen literally means "dipping noodles." Instead of being served in a hot broth, the noodles arrive cold or room temperature on a plate, and you dip them into a separate, concentrated soup or sauce before each bite. The noodle is usually thicker, chewier, and more robust than regular ramen noodles, designed to hold up when dipped in the intense broth. We especially loved the thick broth. Highly recommended!
We were very full after lunch. We slowly walked to the metro station and took a train to Port of Nagoya.
