15 Dec 2015 - Tasmania Day 2: Silver Ridge Retreat Vicinity

Silver Ridge Retreat is situated on the slope of majestic Mount Roland and lies in the heart of the popular Cradle Mountain and Lake District.

There are several ponds and large fields for visitors to wander around.  Below is one of the best spot to take a picture of Mount Roland.

At different time of the day, you can see the color of Mount Roland changes.

There are also farm animals such as chickens, ducks, goose, cows and horses roaming around Silver Ridge.

Further down from our cottage is a little play area for kids.

There is even an indoor heated pool behind to the lodge reception.

As it can get pretty cold at night in the mountain, every cottage has a fireplace to keep the interior warm.  Living in a country which is summer throughout the year, we do not have any experience in lighting up a fireplace.  As such, we had to rely on the instructions provided and try it out for our very first time.  Javier initially was so worried that we may burned the whole cottage down. Haha.........
We managed to light up the fireplace in our first try.  Can you see the smoke coming out from the chimney of the cottage?
