31 Jan 2020 - Everyone's birthday (人日) but rushed like mad

First of all, I'll like to wish everyone a happy birthday!  It's the 7th day of Lunar New Year and we call it "人日", which means "Human Day".  However, today is a mad rush for me.

In the afternoon while I was in a meeting, I received a phone call from the student care centre that Javier was having a high fever.  So immediately after my meeting, I rushed down to the centre to pick him up.  I then drove him to a clinic to consult a doctor before it was closed.  The temperature was 39 degree and required a stronger paracetamol.  After we reached home, I gave him the medicine and he went to take a rest.  As he did not have his lunch earlier due to lack of appetite, I drove out to buy porridge in case he felt hungry later.

In the evening when Tracy came home, she told me that her tooth chipped off.  So I quickly accompanied her to her dentist in Clementi.  Fortunately, there is no need to extract the tooth.  By the time, we reached home, it was pretty late already.

Finally everything was settled and I do not have to "rush" anymore.  What an eventful "Human Day"!

27 Jan 2020 - Hot Pot Dinner

As there was leftover food from our new year eve's reunion dinner, we decided to have another hot pot dinner tonight.  We used a tomato soup base this time and we all loved it.
Cheese everyone!

25 Jan 2020 - Jerlene's Birthday on first day of CNY

Today is the first day of Lunar New Year but more importantly, it is Jerlene's 13th birthday.  Actually, it's also my Chinese birthday.  :-)  We bought a Swenson ice-cream cake from Nex and brought it to my parent's place for a little celebration.
Happy Birthday, Jerlene!  Though you are such a big girl now, you are still my little princess in my eyes.  :-)
As usual, we then had our annual CNY photo taking session.
Next, we went to Nex to have our Michelin chicken rice lunch.  Nowadays, most restaurants open during Chinese New Year.  So there is no need to worry about no food during CNY.
After lunch, we went to Starbucks for coffee and dessert.  And we bought Jerlene a Starbucks card.
In the evening, we went to a Loyang chalet and have a CNY gathering with my family and relatives.  After that, we went for more visiting at our cousin's place.  Below is our annual "Kacheng's" shot!

24 Jan 2020 - Lunar New Year Eve Reunion Dinner

Today is Lunar New Year eve and we had setup a hot pot with two separate soup bases for our reunion dinner.  Jerlene and Javier were getting ready for the dinner.
As usual, we first had the "mandatory" Lao Yu Sheng (捞鱼生).  Wishing everyone good health and happiness abundance!  Huat ah!
While everyone was enjoying the hot pot dinner, we had a family photo taken.  Nice!

18 Jan 2020 - Early CNY Reunion Dinner

Chinese New Year is one week away and we had an early Reunion Dinner today.  During every reunion dinner, Lao Yu Sheng (捞鱼生) is a must.  So let's "HUAT" ah!

9 Jan 2020 - Secondary One School Campfire

Jerlene had a three days two nights school camp during the second week of school.  On the second night, they had a campfire and parents were invited to join in the fun.  I can see that all the students were enjoying and I believe they had built up a strong bonding over the past 2 days.

5 Jan 2020 - Edusave Good Progress Award

The reason we were at Ci Yuan Community Club today was to attend the Community Education Awards Presentation whereby Jerlene received her Edusave Good Progress Award from our MP, Mr Darryl David.  Good job, Jerlene and Keep it Up!
Other than the certificate, she also received a cash cheque of $150.

5 Jan 2020 - Lunch at Ci Yuan SOD Cafe

We were at Ci Yuan Community Club and had our lunch at SOD Cafe.  Below were what we had, very nice!
As Chinese New Year is just round the corner, we started seeing CNY decoration everywhere and of course, the God of Fortune (财神爷) whom cannot be missed.

2 Jan 2020 - All ready for first day of school in 2020

Jerlene and Javier were all ready for first day of school.  Jerlene was pretty excited and at the same time anxious as she's going to meet with new classmates and teachers in a new environment.  I assured her that the four years in secondary school will be fun and enjoyable.  Javier on the other hand was eager to meet up with his friends.
Enjoy your day in school, my little angels!  Yes, they are still my little angels no matter how tall they are now.  :-)

1 Jan 2020 - New Year Lunch

Happy New Year to ALL!  On the first day of 2020, we had our family lunch at Sō Ramen (創).  Let's hope 2020 will be a year of happiness!
