28 Jan 2024 - Morning Walk at Tampines Eco Green Park

We decided to go for a morning walk today at Tampines Eco Green, which is a 36.5-hectare ecological park that resembles a savannah with marshlands, secondary forests and freshwater ponds.
The main entrance of the park is currently undergoing maintenance works.  As such, we walked along Sungei Tampines and entered the park from a side entrance that leads to the Vegetated Swales and Water Catchment.

The park offers three trails, namely Diversity Trail, Forest Trail and Marsh Trail, that weave through
the secondary forests.
The green sanctuary is home to over 75 species of birds, 20 species of dragonflies, 35 species of butterflies and 32 species of spiders.
We love this park because it's an easy terrain and more importantly, it's less crowded, unlike some others.  Throughout our entire walk of about an hour, we saw less than 10 people in the park.
Nature is so beautiful if you are willing to take a pause and observe our surrounding.

25 Jan 2024 - Sixteen going on Seventeen!

"Sixteen going on Seventeen" is a song from The Sound of Music.  This song is most appropriate for Jerlene, who celebrated her seventeenth birthday today!
Jerlene went celebrate her birthday with her friend today but when she came home at night, we bought an ice cream cake for her and had a mini celebration.  Happy Birthday, my princess!
Every year when I wrote a post about Jerlene's birthday, it always reminds me about how many years I have been blogging.  This blog has the exact same age as Jerlene.  :-)

13 Jan 2024 - MayDay's Nowhere (五月天诺亚方舟) Concert

We attended MayDay's Nowhere (五月天诺亚方舟) Concert at National Stadium today.
Mayday’s Nowhere world tour had lasted more than 12 years and would finally conclude here.
Though our seats were considered pretty close to the stage, the band still looked very far when they were on stage.
The audiences, we included, were singing along throughout the concert.
The night’s biggest treat came when the band performed on a gigantic float fashioned into a ship that traversed the length of the National Stadium.  A physical representation of Noah’s Ark, one of the album’s defining numbers, the impressive prop was complete with glowing potholes, rotating fans, stairs and an upper deck. It transformed the concert into a lively parade, and brought fans much closer to the action.
What made the crowd went wild in the finale was that the concert had encored thrice!  In the end, the lead singer, Ashin, seemed to have suffered some vocal problems.
Below was a short video showing some of the concert highlights.
As expected, the nearest MRT stations were packed with people after the concert.  However, the movement was still considered smooth, and we managed to get onto a train within minutes.
