31 Mar 2017 - How we spent our time on Javier's Birthday!

Today is not only Javier's 8th birthday.  It's also Rosyth School's Parent-Teacher-Conference (PTC).  So in the morning, we went to the school to meet up with the teachers to find out more about the development of Jerlene and Javier in school.  After the session, we went to Hougang One for our lunch at Xin Wang HK Restaurant.
Since few months back, Javier had been requesting for a dartboard game as his birthday present.  His wish came true and he was excited to try it out.  For the safety of the kids, we bought a magnetic dartboard instead of the traditional type.  I'm quite impressed that the "blunt" darts are able to stick to the magnetic dartboard pretty firmly.
Later in the afternoon, we again went to Skyhigh Trampoline Park, one of their favourite place to have some fun.
In the evening, Javier requested to go Swensen for dinner.  This time round, he remembered to bring along his student pass so that he can get a free "Firehouse" ice cream.  In addition, they ordered another bowl of Topless Five with 5 scoops of cookies and cream!!!!
I wondered what Javier had wished for........
Happy Birthday, Javier!  Hope you enjoy the day!

29 Mar 2017 - Flowering season at our mini roof garden

Flowers are blooming in our mini roof garden.  The below orchid has been with us for more than 15 years.  Throughout the years, there were quite a few occasion where we thought it's not going to make it.  But time and again, it will miraculously revive.  Didn't know Orchid can be so "durable", or maybe it is this particular breed?
Our Desert Rose (富贵花) plant, a gift from our ex-neighbour, is also blooming.
After a few weeks of being "green", my tomato has finally turned red now.  Just wondering why the top of the tomato is like cracking apart.  Any expert advice from anyone?  :-)

26 Mar 2017 - Education Merit Award

This afternoon, Javier was at Ci Yuan Community Club receiving his Education Merit Award.  Guest of Honour, Mr Darryl David, was there to present the certificate.  Other than the certificate, Javier also got himself a $80 Popular book voucher.
Javier, we were all so proud of you!  Keep up the good work!
After the award ceremony, Javier requested to go Popular bookshop to buy some books using the vouchers.  As such, we drove to Seletar Mall and granted him his wish.  :-)

25 Mar 2017 - Jerlene's Ballet Certifcates for past 2 exams

Jerlene finally got back her ballet certificates from British Ballet Organization (BBO) for her past 2 exams, which she took in 2015 (Primary) and 2016 (Grade 1).  Both were distinction.  Well done, Jerlene!
Her name on the certificates were initially printed wrongly so her teacher had requested BBO to reprint the certificates with the correct name.  However, that took them a long time because they only fly down to Singapore once a year to conduct the exam.

25 Mar 2017 - Fun at a Pet Dog Pool

There is a pool where dog owners will bring their pet dogs here to have a swim and at the same time, socialize with other dogs.  It's located at Sun Pets and Aquarium along Seletar West Farmway 1.  We were quite surprised when we got to know that it's open to public for free.
Initially, both Jerlene and Javier were a bit uneasy because most of the dogs here were quite big in size.  However, they soon got used to them and started playing with them.
Here's a video of them having fun with the dogs.
After the pool session, it's time to give the dog a shower.  Jerlene and Javier were a great help to their 表姨 by helping to bath "Golden".

25 Mar 2017 - Mini Road Safety Park @ Hougang

Recently, we discovered a Mini Road Safety Park along Hougang Street 61.
The park is complete with mini roads, road signs, parking lots, zebra crossing and a road circle.
Jerlene and Javier were having fun scooting around but I had warned them to follow strictly to all the traffic rules.  :-)

18 Mar 2017 - Javier's latest video

Javier has stopped creating videos for quite a while.  Today, he decided to do it and put up an "On Air" sign while he started recording.  Once again, it's a Minecraft video, which was requested by his classmates.  Yes, some of his classmates had already subscribed to his Youtube channel.
Here is the latest video that he had created.

17 Mar 2017 - Skyhigh Indoor Trampoline Park

This afternoon, we brought Jerlene and Javier to their favourite Trampoline Park.  As this week is school holiday, the place is more crowded than the last time we were here.
Nonetheless, they were still having lots of fun jumping and climbing around.
Their 表姨 came along with us this time round.

12 Mar 2017 - DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe

We took a break from all the walking at Super Heroes Cafe @ MBS.
This is the one and only official DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe, with food conceptualised by local celebrity chef Eric Teo.  The price of food and dessert on the menu is on the high side, so be prepared to spend quite an amount if you intend to have a full meal here.
After the break, we decided to call it a day as it was almost 10pm.  While crossing Helix bridge to return to Marina Square, we saw Art Zoo Inflatable Park on the floating platform.
It was a great family outing which we should do more often.

12 Mar 2017 - iLight event @ Marina Bay

After watching the spectacular Merlion and MBS Light Show, we embarked on our journey of Lights around the Bay.
i Light Marina Bay is a showcase of light art installations created by artists from Singapore and around the world. Installed around the Marina Bay waterfront, the light art installations are designed with energy-saving lighting or environmentally-friendly materials to reinforce Marina Bay’s position as a sustainable precinct and serve as reminders to encourage festival goers and the general public to adopt sustainable habits in their everyday lives. The festival also features a range of fringe activities for visitors to enjoy, bringing vibrancy to the public spaces in the precinct.
There were 20 sustainable light art installations taking centrestage at the Marina Bay waterfront.
This is the fifth edition of Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival.
When we reached The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, we decided to take a break and have some dessert.

12 Mar 2017 - Light Show @ Merlion Park

At 7:30pm, dazzling lights and images of sea creatures started projecting onto the Merlion.
Together with enchanting music playing in the area, the Merlion Park is a great place to take a break and simply immerse in the beauty of Marina Bay.
