30 Nov 2019 - Our homegrown "Influencer" at work again

Nowadays people have started using the word "Influencer" instead of "Youtuber".  And our very own "Influencer", JJJwong, is at work once again.  He has stopped creating videos since about a month ago in order to focus on his school exams.  Now that it is school holiday, he has started his recording again.
Following are a few new videos that he had created for his channel in the last one week.
I personally wanted to promote the following video.  It is a preview of his upcoming Minecraft World that is going to be launched on Minecraft community platform on Christmas Day.  He had created the game together with his friend.

29 Nov 2019 - Keep it up, Javier!

This is the fourth year in a row.  So well done, Javier!  Keep up the good work!  :-)

29 Nov 2019 - Celebrating classmate's birthday at Marina Square

Jerlene was invited to her classmate's birthday celebration today.  They had loads of fun shooting one another at the Nerf Action Xperience at Marina Square.
After the game, they had some nice cakes at Antoinette Cafe.
It was another wonderful day which Jerlene had with her friends.

28 Nov 2019 - First Visit to Universal Studio for Jerlene

Thanks to her cousin, Jerlene got free two passes to visit Universal Studios Singapore (USS) with her friend today.  This is Jerlene's first time visiting USS and she had thoroughly enjoyed the day.  She said that they managed to take most of the rides without much queuing.  She enjoyed so much so that she had forgotten to take any photo.  That explains why I did not attach any photo in this post.  :-)

26 Nov 2019 - A fun day at Changi Airport with friends

Jerlene went out with her friends to Changi Airport and had an enjoyable day there.
These were her friends in the student care centre, together with their centre teacher.
They visited the Pokemon Center at Changi Jewel.  Jerlene got a free Pokemon tote bag by catching a Pokemon at the store.
They then proceeded to Canopy Park where they had so much fun at the Manulife Sky Nets.
At its highest point 8 metres above the Canopy Park and stretching 250 metres long, you can experience the thrill of being almost weightless as you leap about this giant net.
I did not know there is a sand pit at Changi Jewel till I saw this photo.
Glad that the kids had a great day at Changi Airport.

24 Nov 2019 - Family Gathering

Had a family gathering at my sister's place today to celebrate my niece's birthday.
Happy Birthday, 小妹妹!

21 Nov 2019 - Release of PSLE results

The wait is finally over.  Today is a big day for Jerlene as she was going to receive her PSLE results.  All of us gathered at the multi-purpose hall at around 10:45am as the teacher gave us a briefing on secondary one posting.  After the briefing, all the students returned to their classrooms to receive their results.
Below is the moment Jerlene received her results from the teacher.
As Jerlene walked out of the classroom to meet us, she started crying uncontrollably.  She felt that her results were disappointing though I personally think she did quite ok.  Probably she has set herself a high bar which she did not manage to reach it this time.  I had to spend quite a while to console and encourage her.
In the afternoon, I stayed at home to keep her company.  After playing several rounds of online games with her trying to divert her attention, she started to get over it a little.  Jerlene, do not be too disappointed.  This is just the beginning of your life-long learning.  The journey is still a long way to go.  Learn from this experience and prepare for the next phase of the journey.  加油!

16 Nov 2019 - Back at Pokemon Catching

School holiday starts today and it's time to get back to our Pokemon hunting.  After lunch, we walked to a park nearby our place and began our hunt for some shiny Pokemon.
It has been a while since we last visited a playground.  The see-saw seems a bit small for them now.  The shiny Chimchar is adorable and joined in the fun.  :-)

15 Nov 2019 - End of Year Reports

Today is the last day of school in 2019 and below are their end of year reports.

Academic results aside, main highlight for Jerlene is that she had played multiple roles, namely group manager, team leader and class mentor, in her class this year.  She had received a certificate of appreciation for her contribution.

As for Javier, he had played the role of Student Councillor this year and had received good comments from his teachers.

Well done, Jerlene and Javier!  Keep up the good work.

12 Nov 2019 - Rosyth P6 Graduation Day

In a blink of an eye, Jerlene has completed her primary school education.  The image of her first day in school is still very clear in my mind and six years have passed just like that.  Today is her P6 Graduation Day and we were invited to the school to share this proud moment with her.  All the P6 classes took turn to perform on stage.  Well done, kids!
After the performance, students gathered at the school canteen to receive a Plushie Graduation Bear and some snacks.  All the students were reluctant to leave and some were quite emotional.
Took a family photo before leaving and this marked the end of Jerlene's educational journey with Rosyth.

2 Nov 2019 - Xinmin Secondary School Open House

This morning, we went for another open house at Xinmin Secondary School, which is very near to our place.
Jerlene had arranged to meet up with her friend at the school.  We joined the school tour and visited different parts of the school.  Below is a huge auditorium.
Various CCAs were there showcasing their activities.  Some of the CCAs that caught our attention are the Rock Climbing Club, Shooting Club and Guzheng Emsemble.
After the visit, Jerlene felt that the environment and CCAs of this school are better than that of CHIJ (Toa Payoh) which we visited one weeks ago.
