30 Sep 2013 - Bright Juniors New Uniform

After the change of management for the childcare centre since last year, it finally got its own uniform now.  I had bought a set for Javier and here's how it looks.  His shoes is new too....bought yesterday at Changi City Point.
I did not buy a set for Jerlene because she will be graduating from Kindergarten in a few months time.  She will enter primary school next year.

29 Sep 2013 - A great day at Changi City Point

We decided to go Changi City Point to buy a pair of covered shoes for Javier as his current one is too small.  After that we went to a Japanese restaurant, Ootoya (大户屋) for lunch.  The food was great.  Then we went outdoor where there were mini animal rides.  Jerlene and Javier chose the dinosaur and had so much fun "riding" around.  It only costs $2 for a four minutes ride.
At the central foyer of the mall, there was a stage where the Singapore Hokkien Huay Guan Cultural Academy was having a roadshow.  Jerlene and Javier, together with many other kids, were enjoying themselves with the ribbons and balloons.  The Huay Guan members were demonstrating the different dance props and asked for young volunteers every now and then.  Jerlene had a little fear to volunteer herself initially but she did it eventually.  I must say that she threw and caught the handkerchief pretty well, considering she's a first timer.  See it for yourself.  :-)

26 Sep 2013 - Jerlene dropped her third milk tooth

Jerlene dropped her third milk tooth today in childcare while biting an apple.  The teacher helped her to keep it in a small paper bag for souvenir.  So far, I've kept all her dropped milk teeth (all three of them).  Here's how she looks without her bottom milk tooth.

21 Sep 2013 - My Little MayDay (五月天) Fans

We had a Karaoke session this afternoon.  And guess what, Jerlene and Javier had "upgraded" themselves from singing children songs to chinese pop songs.  Their favourite songs are mainly from the group called MayDay (五月天).  Jerlene sang ok but a bit soft.  As for Javier.......I had no comment......  However, his stage presence was fantastic though.  :-)

Overall, I appreciate their effort.  So let's sit back, relax and enjoy their performance.

13-14 Sep 2013 - Jerlene's 1st camping

Jerlene went for her 1st camping today.  It's a two days camp, which means she'll will be staying a night out from home.  I will miss her tonight and she told me she'll miss me too.  She gave me a big hug before I left the childcare centre.

This camp is organized by Camp Challenge!  The campsite is at Sembawang.  There were many activities during these two days for the kids.  They had learnt to be independent by preparing their own meal and washing their own dishes.  According to Jerlene, they even made their own salad.

We went to the campsite to pick her up at about 3pm on the 2nd day.  We were surprised to see so many kids went for the camp because only 4 from Jerlene's class went.  According to the teachers, the responses from other schools were much much better.  Anyway, Jerlene said she enjoyed the camp very much and would like to go again if there's another opportunity.

Below is Jerlene's Certificate of Achievement for attending the camp!

6 Sep 2013 - Performance at Legoland

Jerlene and Javier performing at the entrance of Legoland before leaving.  It's part of their dance steps which they had been practising in school for their year end concert.  It even consists of some Wushu moves.

6 Sep 2013 - Visiting Legoland on Teacher's day

Childcare centre is closed today as the teachers are taking a well deserved day off on Teacher's Day.  We decided to take a day leave as well to bring the kids to their favourite Legoland.  It's was a very smooth ride there and since it's a weekday, it's not very crowded, which is great.

At the center of the park where the MiniLand is, a new area was built up with Star Wars theme.
We saw many characters, structures and spacecrafts from the Stars Wars movie series.  The main attraction is the Death Star!
Legoland hotel seems to have completed all its construction.  It should be able to open by early next year I guess.
In Legoland 4D movie theatre, there are total of 4 different movies.  After watching the Racer 4D show today, we finally completed all 4 movies.  There was a trailer on a new movie upcoming next year, Lego Star Wars.
We then went next door to the Lego blocks Build and Test corner.  Here Jerlene and Javier got to build their own racing cars and compete against each other down a slope.
The park closed at 6pm today.  So the kids left the park so reluctantly as the sky has not turned dark yet.

1 Sep 2013 - Three Little Pigs

After we reached home from my parent's place, Jerlene decided to improve on their earlier puppet show.  This time, she did it all by herself without Javier messing around.  She even invited all her little "friends" to the show.  Let's sit back and relax as Jerlene is going to present "The Three Little Pigs".

Excellent performance, Jerlene!  :-)

1 Sep 2013 - An impromptu puppet show by my little angels

After our dinner tonight at my parent's place, Jerlene and Javier started setting up a stage for an impromptu puppet show.  It's quite disorganized but for the fact that it's impromptu and without practice or rehearsal, I really appreciate their effort.  Great job, Jerlene and Javier!
