We decided to go for a morning walk today at Tampines Eco Green, which is a 36.5-hectare ecological park that resembles a savannah with marshlands, secondary forests and freshwater ponds.
The main entrance of the park is currently undergoing maintenance works. As such, we walked along Sungei Tampines and entered the park from a side entrance that leads to the Vegetated Swales and Water Catchment.
The park offers three trails, namely Diversity Trail, Forest Trail and Marsh Trail, that weave through
the secondary forests.
The green sanctuary is home to over 75 species of birds, 20 species of dragonflies, 35 species of butterflies and 32 species of spiders.
We love this park because it's an easy terrain and more importantly, it's less crowded, unlike some others. Throughout our entire walk of about an hour, we saw less than 10 people in the park.Nature is so beautiful if you are willing to take a pause and observe our surrounding.
