30 May 2022 - June School Holiday starts TODAY

This year's June school holiday starts today.  Originally we had planned to go on an overseas travel but Tracy and Jerlene had yet to get their new passports.  They had applied since early April but till now, the status is still "pending".  There is no way to contact or email ICA to expedite, which is why there is a long queue of people waiting at ICA building everyday, sometimes as early as 6am.  There is no way we are going to queue that early so we had decided to drop the traveling plan.  Will probably plan for something else.  Anyway, the kids are also not very keen on traveling as they had always prefer to stay home, where they can do anything they want......  :-)

27 May 2022 - Estate Re-painting Work

Since few weeks back, our estate has started facade painting work and since we are at the top most floor, the contractor had to access to our roof terrace and drill holes to setup the elevator.  Now that the painting is done for our tower, the contractor had dismantled the elevator but left the holes behind on our roof balcony.

I had reported this to the management office and they will remind the contractor to return to patch up the holes.

16 May 2022 - Back for Breakfast Club

We were back at Breakfast Club @ Kovan today for their breakfast, as requested by Javier.  I guess we will continue to frequent this place going forward.

13 May 2022 - Kumar Locks Down Show

The main highlight of the night is the Kumar Show!  This is our first time watching a standup comedy live show.  Though the Sands Theatre is huge with a seating capacity of more than 2 thousands, the show was actually sold out, and not just today, it's sold out every session.

The stage is very grand with all the colourful lightings.  It was a great show and we all had lots of fun and laughter throughout the 2 hours performance.  Kumar, our Queen of comedy, never fails to bring us joy with all her jokes.  :-)

13 May 2022 - Dinner at So Pho @ MBS

We both took leave today to have a break from work.  In the evening, we had our dinner at So Pho @ MBS as most other food outlets were full.

The Vietnamese food here is actually very good.  It was a nice dinner and we were able to eat comfortably in a quiet ambience.

8 May 2022 - KTV is finally BACK!

Today is mother's day.  I've invited my family members to our place and booked the KTV room for the afternoon.  This KTV room was closed for the past 2 years during the pandemic and has just opened up for booking recently.

There are no new songs in the selection and the latest songs are all from 2019.  :-)  Anyway, we all still had fun singing after 2 years without KTV.  Yay!

8 May 2022 - Education Merit Award Ceremony

Jerlene attended the Education Merit Award Ceremony at Ci Yuan CC this morning and received her Merit Award from our MP, Mr Darryl David.  This time round there were more participants per session as more rules (due to the pandemic) have now been relaxed.

The award is based on Jerlene's last year's academic results.  Well done and congrats, Jerlene!

2 May 2022 - Morning Stroll around Botanic Gardens Lake

This is Javier's first visit to Botanic Gardens.  Good that he's willing to get up close to nature instead of staring at his screen the whole day.

Following are some of the wild life that we saw in this short visit.

Before this visit, Javier said he has never seen a monitor lizard.  So I told him let's go find one and sure enough, we saw one by the side of the lake.  Javier was too afraid to get too close to it.

After strolling round the lake, we decided to head home as it we cannot stand the heat.  If the weather is cooler, this will be an amazing place to spend the day.

2 May 2022 - Breakfast at Fusion Spoon @ Botanic Gardens

It's public holiday today.  This morning, we decided to go for some good breakfast.  Javier came along with us but not Jerlene as she's still in bed.  Fusion Spoon @ Botanic Gardens is where we headed to.

We thought we were early but the car park was almost full.  Food ordering and payment is via a self-service kiosks.  We waited about 10mins before our meal was ready for collection.

After breakfast, we decided to take a short walk around the lake at Botanic Gardens.
