Today's lunch was just Javier and me.  We had Udon at Umisushi after his tuition.  Nice!

And today is the extra day in a leap year.  :-)

21 Feb 2020 - Javier now publishes video on a weekly basis

Creating YouTube videos is now a regular activity for Javier.  He started publishing his video on a weekly basis, usually on Friday night.  Somehow the way he speaks in his videos is different from how he speaks to us normally.  In his videos, he sounded quite "slangy", probably influenced by those "ang mo" Youtubers.  Maybe I should ask his teacher how he speaks during his oral test.  :-)

14 Feb 2020 - Birthday Cake from colleague

Today is Valentine's Day but instead of getting a valentine's gift, I received an early birthday cake from my colleague.  Thank you so much for the cake and more importantly for remembering my birthday.  Really appreciate it!  :-)

Btw, the cake was really GOOD!

8 Feb 2020 - COVID19 situation, OMG!

The current talk of the town is none other than the CoronaVirus (COVID-19) situation.  As of last evening, our government raised the risk assessment from Dorscon Yellow to Dorscon Orange, which introduced a list of additional precautionary measures to minimise the risk of further transmission of the virus in the community.  This announcement had caused many people to panic buy and wiped off daily necessities from the shelves of supermarkets overnight.  Out of curiosity this morning, Javier and I decided to visit the NTUC near our place to take a look before going to the tuition center.  We were shocked to see empty shelves for things such as rice, toilet papers, instant noodles etc.  Furthermore, the queue for the cashier was so long that I think those at the back of the line will have to queue for an hour before it reached their turn.  Is the situation really that bad?  I wonder.........

After sending Javier to his tuition center, I saw this while walking home.  OMG!

Lots of netizens started posting similar scenes in all major supermarkets across the island.  I guess anxiety can really trigger unusual behaviours for many people.  Let's hope the people can take a step back and think rationally.  What we should really do now is to pay more attention to personal hygiene and be more socially responsible so that the virus can be contained.  Life still has to go on and hope we can all get through this soon.

Fifteen days of CNY is about to end and we had a mini "Lou Hei" session with my colleagues.  Note that all the ingredients were self-prepared by my colleagues, who are all fantastic "chefs".

It's the time of year when we all gathered at my sis place where lion dance troupe would come visiting.  This is an annual event for our family.

1 Feb 2020 - Javier's Pokemon Meme Video on Reddit

Today I learn a new word "Meme" from Javier.  Meme is an amusing or interesting item (such as a captioned picture or video) or genre of items that is spread widely online especially through social media.  Javier actually created a meme video with a Pokemon theme and posted it on Reddit, under the Pokemon meme review page created by MandJTV, a very popular YouTuber who makes Pokemon gaming videos and streams.

I could not stop laughing whenever I watch this video.  The video is very simple and he basically just merges two videos into one.  However, what I like most about the video is the idea and his creative imagination behind it, don't you agree?  His aim is to make it into the monthly MandJTV Pokemon meme review on YouTube.  Let's see if he's able to achieve it in a month's time.
