31 Mar 2021 - Javier turns 12 today

Today is Javier's birthday but since it's a school day and he had tuition the whole afternoon, we decided to bring him out for a meal and have some fun in the coming long weekend.  Stay tune for the post and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Javier!

30 Mar 2021 - Roszania Imagine Cup Circuit 2 (Silver Award)

In Nov 2020, Javier was awarded Gold (Honor) Award for Challenge Circuit 1 of Roszania Imagine Cup and I had a post regarding it here.  He then participated in Challenge Circuit 2 later and was awarded Silver Award.  For this project, he had programmed micro:bit with the objectives of helping people with hearing impairment.  Once done, he's supposed to create a video to demonstrate his "product".  His idea was good and his product works but I think his video can be improved further.  Anyway, it's a good experience and getting an award is a bonus.  Keep up the learning, Javier!  Well done!

15 Mar 2021 - No more short overseas trip

Today is the start of one week school holidays for the kids.  We used to take short overseas trips during this time in the past but due to all the border closures and restrictions, we could not plan for one this year.  When I asked the kids whether they want to go for a staycation, Javier's response was "What's the difference between staying in a local hotel versus staying at home?  Some more it's so expensive to stay in Singapore hotels.  Let's just save up the money for future overseas trip!".  I appreciate that he's thinking of saving money for me but I guess for kids nowadays, as long as they can get connected online with friends, it really does not matter where they are........

 

8 Mar 2021 - Simple Anniversary Dinner @ iSteaks

It's our 21st anniversary but both of us were tied up with work.  However, we made an effort to still have a good dinner at iSteaks @ myVillage, Serangoon Garden.  We had wanted to try out this place a couple of times but it's always having a long queue.  We managed to be there slightly earlier today and got a seat soon after we arrived at the restaurant.  The food is delicious and portion is just right.
