12 Oct 2019 - Hanoi Day 1: First taste of Hanoi traffic and lunch by the lake

As we arrived at our hotel in Hanoi slightly early, our room was not ready for us to check in.  So we left our luggage at the lobby and went out for our lunch.  One of Hanoi’s most common sights is that of streets packed with scooters, bicycles and cars swarming around pedestrians like a school of fish.  Our hotel is located at the popular Old Quarter district, which left us no choice but to face the traffic in local style.  What an experience it was!

After walking through a few streets, Jerlene and Javier decided to have our lunch in a Chinese restaurant called Fu Rong Hua Cantonese Restaurant, which is located by Hoan Kiem Lake.

The food was great, especially the roasted duck, which was the reason Jerlene and Javier chose this restaurant.

The interior of the restaurant was quite nicely decorated.
