7 May 2023 - Kranji Coastal Nature Park

We decided to visit Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve for our weekly morning walk today.  For the first part of the walk, it's an area where we had not visited before.  Kranji Coastal Nature Park is an extension from the original Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve which houses a brand new Visitor Centre and new trails for visitors to explore and enjoy.
Based on the above map, if we followed the Coastal Trail all the way, it will lead us to the original Wetlands area.  Our plan is to go on the Forest Trail till we reached Eagle Point, then take the Coastal Trail back to the visitor center.
Throughout the walk, we got to uncover a world filled with rich biodiversity as you wander through the wetlands with an extensive mangrove forest.
Once we were out of the Forest Trail, we came to the coastal area where we could see Malaysia from across the shore.
Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve was recognised as a site of international importance for migratory birds and awarded a certificate by Wetlands International in 2002.  Below are best that I could capture of these birds with my iPhone Pro 14.
We took a short break at Eagle Point before returning to the visitor center via the Coastal Trail.
Following is the Fantail Pod where we could climb up to have a nice view of the surrounding from higher ground.
Kranji Dam (below) is just next to the Wetlands.
Instead of continuing on the Coastal Trail, we took a detour via a short Mid-Canopy Walk.
This was part 1 of today's walk.  We returned to our car at Kranji Way Car Park and drove to Neo Tiew Car Park for part 2 of our walk.
