For our day trip to JB today, we first drove to Mount Austin area for our brunch. We did a bit of research prior to the trip and decided to eat at a restaurant called Sek Bao (吃饱 in Cantonese). It is a Hong Kong-style retro dim sum and tea restaurant, where its interior features walls covered in vintage Hong Kong movie posters and pop star imagery.
We ordered some of its signature food and drinks such as Pork Chop Dry Noodle, Emerald Salted Egg Lava Bun, and Traditional Hong Kong-style silky milk tea.
After our brunch, we went to a place called ECO Palladium which is located just a 10 to 15-minute drive north of Mount Austin. It is a massive, premium open-air lifestyle and commercial hub with striking grand European-style architecture, featuring white majestic facades, arches, high ceilings, and classic columns that make the entire area highly photogenic.
Unlike a traditional indoor shopping mall, Eco Palladium is structured as an interconnected block of four-story commercial shop-offices segmented into four lifestyle pillars namely, Food & Beverage, Retail & Services, Education, and Wellness.
We saw quite a number of Escape Rooms around, but they all seemed closed.
Then we stumbled upon an interesting shop called ExoReptiles Eco Palladium. It is a specialized exotic pet store and unique pet café.
At the retail store, there were a wide variety of exotic animals, including chameleons, geckos, tortoises, snakes, frogs, and tarantulas, alongside specialized terrariums, layout decor, supplements, and live food.
The staff were highly passionate and knowledgeable about herpetology. Really appreciate them for taking time to patiently educate us about these amazing creatures and exactly how to set up proper habitats for them.
From Eco Palladium, we then drove to Southkey Mid Valley to catch a movie "Disclosure Day".
And followed by an early dinner before returning to SG.
