It was about 4pm when we returned to Melbourne city from Werribee Open Range Zoo. The drop off point was again at the Arts Centre. Since Federation Square is just opposite, we decided to walk over and visit the Australian Racing Museum (Champions), which is also included in our Smartvisit cards.
Champions is a horse racing museum and houses a collection of fine and decorative arts, paintings, trophies, photographs, colours, riding equipment, a horse drawn jockey ambulance and ephemera. It's not a big museum and because we are not horse racing fans, the exhibits did not quite interest us. Only Jerlene enjoyed herself on the wooden horse.....heeeehaaaa.
At Fed Square, there is a very big open space and without fail, Jerlene just ran around like nobody business.
Across Flinders Street from Fed Square is St Paul's Cathedral. As it's drizzling, we decided to walk into the cathedral and have a look. It was very beautiful both inside and outside of the cathedral.
As it was still early, we decided to go Myers to do some window shopping. As we stepped into the building, we were immediately welcomed by all the christmas decoration. There was a Santaland where kids will definitely enjoy, at least Jerlene did. She also took a free train ride though she was a little bit scared at first.
We then went up to the toys department and Jerlene was glued to the "Thomas the train" section. I had a hard time asking her leave the place.
As the sky started to turn dark, we headed off to Eureka Tower for a superb night view of Melbourne city.
