Due to the current COVID-19 situation, before we were allowed to enter the Flower Dome, we got to go to a counter to take our temperature and at the same time, do a travel declaration. After that, we were each given a sticker indicating we had done all the precautionary checks. Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world as listed in the 2015 Guinness World Records! As we stepped into the Flower Dome, we were amazed by the spectacular structure and the surrounding nature.
Designed with glass that sits on a steel grid which acts like an eggshell, the two Cooled Conservatories (Flower Dome and Cloud Forest) at Gardens by the Bay are the world’s largest column-less greenhouses. The temperature inside Flower Dome is around 23ºC – 25ºC.Replicating the cool and dry Mediterranean climate, Flower Dome showcases exotic plants from five continents which are displayed in nine different Gardens. Wander amongst thousand-year-old olive trees and unusual Baobabs as you take in sights of the Flower Field Display.
Following are some of the close-up photos of beautiful flowers in this amazing place.
For the month of March, we do not need to fly all the way to Japan to see Sakura. You can see it right here at the Flower Dome. We strolled under the delightful springtime blooms and embarked on an adventure with Momotaro, a popular hero of Japanese folklore, at the Sakura Matsuri: Tale of the Peach Boy Floral Display.
More up-close photos of colourful flowers to be added to my collection.
