23 Jun 2022 - SGN Day 3: Independence Palace

Our first stop of the day is Independence Palace, which is a 10 mins walk from our hotel.  The Independence Palace is not only a special symbol of the architectural art but also an important historical Vietnamese relic.  It was declared to be a national, cultural and historical monument in 1976 and designated as one of the very first ten National Relics on 12 Aug 2009.
The palace has experienced many important events and is a significant part of history.
Independence Palace is an ideal place to host events, conferences, receptions of Vietnamese and foreign enterprises.
The Palace has luxurious rooms that can hold 100-500 people.
As we walked through the Palace, we realized that the entire place is not air-conditioned.  Since the weather was extremely hot, we felt very uncomfortable.
Nevertheless, we continued on to visit the other parts of the palace.
After about half an hour walking through the various rooms, we really could not handle the heat and decided to visit the exhibition hall, which hopefully is air-conditioned.  We were glad that we made the decision as we could finally take a break in an air-conditioned room.  This exhibition is based on extensive research in archives in Vietnam, the United State, and France and feature hundreds of documents and photographs from those collection.
By using multimedia and interactive games, visitors can see, hear and experience the history while they are exploring.  Jerlene and Javier spent quite sometimes solving the various puzzles.
