14 Sep 2025 - Jurassic Nest Food Hall and United Buddy Bears

After completing our Jurassic World Experience at Cloud Forest, we decided to have an early dinner at Jurassic Nest, the first dinosaur‑themed food hall in Singapore, located in the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay. There are over 18 dinosaur statues set up throughout the hall. Three of them are animatronic and life‑sized, including a towering 5‑metre Brachiosaurus, as well as an animatronic T. Rex and Oviraptor.
At the Supertree Grove Lawn right outside Jurassic Nest food hall, there are 150 two‑metre tall bear sculptures, each painted differently, standing hand in hand in circles. This is the United Buddy Bears exhibition, making its debut in Singapore.
Each country‑bear is hand‑painted by an artist from that nation, reflecting its culture, heritage, symbolism.
Singapore’s bear, for instance, was designed some years back by a Raffles Design Institute student, Jacqueline Harliman, with motifs including orchids, henna, lotus, and colours drawn from the national flag.
Walking among the Buddy Bears felt like taking a mini‑world tour without leaving Singapore. Each bear whispers of a place far away, of culture, identity, of what binds us even as we are different. It’s hopeful, uplifting, and timely in a world that can often feel fragmented.
