18 Dec 2014 - Taiwan Trip Day 5: 499-Steps Trail (步步高升步道)

As the weather is cooling, we decided to take the various trail walks from Green Green Grassland all the way to Little Swiss Garden.  Along the Mountain View Trail, the scenery is superb.

At the end of Mountain View Trail, we arrived at the 499-Steps Trail or Great Wall Trail (步步高升步道).  This trail is 1.8km in length and consists of 487 steps.  Since we had already walked to this point, there was no turning back.  Fortunately, we were walking down which should be easier.

If we were here at the right season, there will be cherry blossom all around the trail.  I can imagine it will be beautiful and romantic to walk down the steps during that time.

From here, we took the Cherry Blossoms Trail (樱花步道) to go to Little Swiss Garden.  By the time we reached there, I could feel muscle strain around my ankle.
