While Kuala Lumpur continues to grow with modern shopping giants like Pavilion and TRX, Lot 10 and Sungei Wang Plaza remain timeless favorites in the city’s Bukit Bintang district. Located right in the heart of Bukit Bintang, Lot 10 has reinvented itself as a vibrant urban mall that blends lifestyle, fashion, and dining. Originally opened in the 1990s, the mall underwent several modern upgrades, transforming into a stylish hangout for both locals and tourists.
One of Lot 10’s biggest highlights lies beneath the mall, the Lot 10 Hutong (十号胡同), a curated food court that brings together some of Kuala Lumpur’s most famous street food vendors under one roof.
We had Roast Duck, Char Siew and Roast Meat (烧腊) with rice and noodles for our lunch.
Right outside of Lot 10 mall, there was a 3D screen, similar to those we saw in Japan.
Just a short walk from Lot 10, Sungei Wang Plaza stands as one of Bukit Bintang’s most iconic malls. Opened in 1977, it’s affectionately known as the “People’s Mall”, a lively shopping maze that’s equal parts nostalgic and energetic. Unlike the glitzy malls nearby, Sungei Wang focuses on affordable retail and independent boutiques. Many locals still come here for custom clothing, cheap phone repairs, and vintage bargains for things we won’t easily find in high-end malls. There were also quite a number of Anime and Figurine shops that interest youngsters.
