4-9 Jan 2026 - International Science Youth Forum (ISYF)

Javier participated in this year's International Science Youth Forum (ISYF) held from 5-9 January at Hwa Chong Institution (HCI). We sent him to the campus today to check-in to the hostel before the actual event starts the next day.
ISYF aims to provide students who are highly inquisitive and passionate about the sciences with ample opportunities to share and discuss their interests in Science, technology and scientific research. They will be exposed to many fields of science which will broaden their outlook and understanding of the scientific world.
ISYF provides a platform for student delegates from around the world to share their passion for Science, Technology, and Research whilst building long-lasting friendships. Over the week, the Organizing Committee curated an exciting line-up of activities brimming with scientific discovery, from inspiring lectures and research exchanges to hands-on experiments and thought-provoking discussions, all alongside moments of sightseeing, fun, and collaboration with new friends from around the world.
The theme for this year’s ISYF is: “Curiosity Unlocked: How Questions Drive Discovery in the Age of AI.” Nobel laureates and eminent scientists were invited to share their insights and inspire the students through stories of their own life experiences and scientific discoveries. These interactions will help create greater awareness among the youth about the importance of broad-based knowledge, fuel their curiosity, engender relentless tenacity and a global outlook when considering the pursuit of science as a meaningful and fulfilling endeavour.
At the Poster Exhibitions, students got to showcase their research work which they did last year.
The entire forum ended with a Gala Lunch. Glad that Javier had enjoyed the event and made some new friends, both local and overseas.
