12 Dec 2016 - Hyde Park & St Mary's Cathedral

Our plan today was to visit Australian Museum.  We decided to take a 10-15mins walk there via Hyde Park.  From the park, we could see Sydney Tower (Westfield) very clearly,
At the other end of Hyde Park, we saw a huge church which we decided to go take a look.
This is St Mary's Cathedral, one of Sydney's most treasured historic buildings and one of the finest examples of English-style gothic churches in the world.
The interior of the cathedral is one of the nicest that we had seen so far.
The aisles have ribbed stone vaulting with carved bosses
The main glory of St Mary's Cathedral is the stained glass. Below photo shows the Chapel of Our Lady with stained glass windows above, the reredos features statues of influential female saints
Following photo shows a pipe organ and rose window in the western transept of the cathedral
This visit was not planned in our original itinerary but glad that we visited such a beautiful building structure.
