After getting our rented car, we drove straight to Reykjavik where our first two nights of accommodation is. As this was my first time driving a left hand drive car, I felt a bit odd initially and tend to get very close to the side of the road. However, I got used to it after few hours of driving in town. Although the car came with an in-car GPS, we used Google Maps to get around most of the time. The in-car GPS came in handy when looking for nearby petrol station. :-)
The drive from Keflavik International Airport to Reykjavik is about 45mins. We arrived and checked in at Atlantic Apartments and Rooms at about 4:30pm.
The room was pretty decent with a double bed and a sofa bed.
There is an open concept kitchen and a small dining area as well.
Shower and toilet facilities are standard but after Javier used it, he came out complaining there was "rotten egg" smell from the toilet. We did some research from the internet and found out that the hot water from the tap is actually geothermal water. Cold water from the tap do not have the smell though. Regardless, both hot and cold water from the tap is safe to drink in Iceland.
