At this time of the year, sunset happens at around midnight in Iceland. Though it was 8pm, the sky was still bright. As such, we decided to visit a neaby geothermal town called Hveragerði, which is also known as the hot springs capital of the world. Throughout the year, pillars of steam from the numerous hot springs in the town may be seen rising up out of the ground. There is a Geothermal Park right at the town center but it was closed when we were there.
There are good hiking trails within the town for those who love outdoors.
About 50 metres away from the Geothermal Park, we came to an outdoor Geothermal Kitchen owned by a restaurant.
This is the first time that we had seen such an oven in a unique outdoor kitchen. Interesting!
As all the attractions in the town were closed, we headed back to our apartment and rest for the day.
