26 May 2017 - Iceland Day 1: Transit at Copenhagen and Touch down at Reykjavik

As there is no direct flight from Singapore to Iceland, we had to transit at Copenhagen.  We arrived at Copenhagen Airport early in the morning around 6:30am.  Jerlene and Javier were feeling a bit hungry so we bought some nuggets from Burger King.
Our connecting flight to Reykjavik (Iceland) was at 12:30pm.  As such, we had pizza lunch before boarding our flight.  The pizza tastes GOOD!
There are only two main airlines (Icelandair and Wowair) flying into Iceland.  We took Wowair (WW903) and the flight time is 3.5 hours.  As there is a 2 hours time difference between Iceland and Denmark, we will be touching down at about 2pm.
Finally, we had arrived at Reykjavik, Iceland!  The custom clearance was a breeze.  First thing we did was to change some of our Euros to Icelandic Króna (ISK). As most of the places in Iceland accept credit cards, we did not change too much of ISK.  Next, we went to a convenient store at the airport to buy pre-paid mobile sim cards for internet access which comes with local calls.

We rented a car from Alamo and its counter was outside of the airport.  In fact, most car rental companies do not have a counter in the airport except those few established ones such as Hertz and Avis.  However not to worry as there is a shuttle bus service that will bring passengers to the various car rental companies just outside of the airport.  The moment we walked out of the airport to take the shuttle, our first impression was.......IT'S WINDY and COLD!  With a bit of drizzle, the kids were "frozen".....lol.....
