We were very excited about tonight's accommodation. The reason was, we were about to spend our night in a Castle! Yes, we had booked a King Suite in Kryal Castle, a replica medieval castle located eight kilometres east of Ballarat.
There are different types of accommodation in the castle, namely Queen Suite, King Suite, Gate House, Family King Suite and Commander's Quarters.
We booked a Family King Suite which comes with a King-sized bed and a double deck bunk bed.
Since the accommodation is within the castle, we were free to explore the castle compound.
There is a Maze which we decided to venture. It looks simple but after a while, we realized it's actually quite challenging. It's easier for adults because the maze wall is pretty low. For small kids who go on their own, I think most will get lost in the maze.
The Kryal Castle Theme Park only opens in the weekends and during Victorian School Holiday. As such there was no activity on that day when we were there.
However, the feeling was still great to be able to roam around the castle freely with lots of photo opportunities.
There were some castle animals too. As it's getting late and cold, we decided to continue exploring the castle next morning before checking out.
