17 Dec 2017 - Shanghai Day 3: Suzhou Silk Museum (苏州丝绸博物馆)

The first attraction we visited in Suzhou was the Silk Museum.  It is a museum built to show Chinese flourishing silk culture, including Chinese history and actuality for the development of silk textile industry.
In the Introductory Hall, visitors can retrace the splendid history of China, as a ancient country for silk. The Ancient Exhibit Hall with precious silk of cultural relics, models and pictures, shows the history from the origination of the silk producing to the development in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which can be recognized as a concentrated history for silk development in China.
In one of the exhibit hall, we saw all kinds of ancient weaving machines and information about the processes of weaving some famous silk products like ancient brocades and green silk.
It's not a very big museum so we did not spend too much time there. By the way, it's free admission to this museum.
