Below is the Dragon Boat that we boarded to sail across West Lake to a man-made Island. There are many types of boat tours around West Lake but this dragon boat is the largest and most "grand" among all.
As we boarded early, we managed to get seats, which were quite limited, on the boat.
During the boat ride, we get to see the full scenery of West Lake in all directions.
According to the commentary on board, West Lake is surrounded by mountain ranges except for the eastern side where the city is.
We had a good view of Leifeng Pagoda (雷峰塔) before we reached the Island.
We took a photo with the Dragon head before getting off the boat.
Our boat ticket includes a return trip but it will not be on the Dragon boat (below). However, we were able to take the return trip to any of the other docks around West Lake.
The island that we were on then is known as Three Pools Mirroring the Moon (西湖三潭印月). More details off this island in the next blog post.
