3 Jun 2019 - Busan Day 3: Jagalchi Fish Market

After our adventure at Gamcheon Culture Village, we returned to Toseong subway station and took line 1 to Jagalchi station which is just a stop away.  From Exit 10 of the station, we walked straight ahead where there were many roadside fruits stalls selling all sorts of fruits at very cheap price.  We then took a right turn and walked straight for about 150 metres to reach the famous fish market.
First we explored the outdoor open-air fish market.  It's really an eye-opener for all of us, especially Jerlene and Javier, to see so many unusual "creatures" on sale.
Jagalchi Fish Market is the largest seafood market in South Korea, selling both live and dried seafood.  Compared to other fish markets in Korea, Jagalchi Market ranks high in terms of public transport accessibility, huge varieties of live seafood, nice ambience with outdoor street performances on some days and great sea views.
After we walked through the outdoor section of Jagalchi Markey, we decided to go indoor to have our seafood lunch,
In the indoor market, there were also many live seafood on display.  As we walked through the place, every stall owners will try to invite you to their stalls.  And quite a number of them can speak Chinese.  We simply went to one of them, select the seafood that we wanted, and the stall owner went off to cook the dishes for us.
As we are not the "daring" type, the seafood that we had ordered were pretty "safe".  People had suggested to try out the live octopus, but we didn't dare.
Following were what we ordered:  Steam Abalones, Fried Rock Fish, and Abalone Porridge.  The seafood here is really fresh.  The fish was nicely fried and the porridge was unique and tasty.
After the seafood lunch at the market, we still didn't feel enough.  So we walked across a street and went into a shop that sells fried seafood.
We didn't dare to try the live octopus but we are ok with the fried (dead) ones.  Haha.......
