26 Apr 2025 - NGO Day 1: Mirai Tower by Night

At night, the Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER (formerly Nagoya TV Tower) transforms into a luminous beacon that defines Nagoya’s skyline. Standing 180 meters tall in Hisaya Ōdori Park, this historic tower is illuminated daily from 30 minutes before sunset until 2 a.m., showcasing a dazzling array of colors and patterns that change with the seasons and special events.
The tower's lighting, known as "Kirameki," employs over 10,000 LEDs capable of producing up to 16.7 million colors. This dynamic illumination not only enhances the tower's visual appeal but also reflects Nagoya's vibrant culture and festivities.
The area surrounding the tower, particularly Hisaya Ōdori Park, also comes alive at night. The combination of the tower's illumination, park lighting, and reflections on nearby water features creates a romantic and serene atmosphere, making it a popular spot for evening strolls and photography.
We left the area at about 7:30pm and reached our hotel by 8pm.
