27 Apr 2025 - NGO Day 2: One of the highest-altitude Starbucks outlets in Japan

Perched on the 15th floor of JR Gate Tower Mall, directly above Nagoya Station, we visited Starbucks that stands out as one of the highest-altitude outlets in Japan, offering spectacular urban views with a touch of sophistication.
Floor‑to‑ceiling windows wrap the indoor seating area, providing expansive views over Nagoya’s rooftops and beyond.
An adjacent outdoor terrace, landscaped with greenery, allows us to soak up fresh air and urban scenery, especially gorgeous in the evenings.
After sunset, all the buildings started to light up and it was such a nice panoramic view all around.
Unlike compact cafe layouts, this store offers a spacious environment with varied seating options, cozy corners, communal benches (sometimes with power outlets!), and terrace tables.  The open‑plan design, accented by natural wood tones and soft lighting, creates a relaxing “resort bungalow” feel even amidst the city hustle.
We enjoyed the views in Starbucks for about 30 minutes before walking back to our hotel.
