In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned that Jerlene had shortlisted a few items when we were shopping at Nanjing East Street on our first night in Shanghai. Now that she had made up her mind, we returned to Bailian ZX Creative Center to get those items. We also bought a Pokemon plushie for Javier and a jigsaw puzzle for me.
After we were done with our purchases, we took the metro for one stop to Lujiazui (陆家嘴), which is mainland China’s premier financial hub and home to one of the most iconic, futuristic city skylines in the world. Because Lujiazui features wide multi-lane roads built heavily for vehicles, the best way to explore the neighborhood on foot is via the massive, traffic-free circular flyover (The Lujiazui Circular Pedestrian Bridge). This elevated walkway links the main metro exits directly to top commercial buildings, making it the perfect vantage point for street-level photography of the skyscrapers.
