23 Aug 2026 - SHA Day 3: Changning Longemont City Life Center (长宁龙之梦城市生活中心)

In the evening, we left Lujiazui and took the metro to Zhongshan Park Station where Changning Longemont City Life Center (长宁龙之梦城市生活中心) is situated. We read about this mall when we were researching on Pokemon Center in Shanghai prior to the trip. Though there is no official Pokemon Center in Shanghai, there is a Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) Official Gym right in this mall. This is the first official offline flagship venue dedicated to the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Mainland China. Located on the 3rd Floor (Red Atrium), it operates as a sprawling hybrid retail flagship and active community battlefield designed specifically for Pokémon TCG trainers, collectors, and casual fans.
The store features a distinct identity anchored by its two official mascots: Pikachu and Cramorant (古月鸟). The entire architecture has been heavily stylized into a high-tech "Water Gym" concept.
Unlike standard Pokémon Centers that cater mostly to souvenir shoppers, the core purpose of the TCG Gym is live gameplay. The venue provides expansive, purpose-built table setups where local players gather to test, trade, and battle daily.
We spent most of our time on Level 6, which is widely recognized as the pulse of western Shanghai's youth, subculture, and pop-fandom community. There was a specialized maze of "Guzi" (谷子店) shops that cater explicitly to ACG (Anime, Comic, Games) fans. The Chinese term "Guzi" derived from the Japanese word Goodzu (Goods). There were other interesting shops such as Escape Room, Robotic Shop and Arcade.
Another reason to visit this mall was to have some fun at Joymark (plushie catcher). In one of our previous trips to Shanghai two years ago, we had caught quite a number of plushies and had so much fun. This time with Jerlene, we were equally successful with our catches!
On our way back to hotel, while waiting for the metro on the platform, we saw some familiar names (Capitaland, Raffles City) on a building. We saw these names in our Chongqing trip few months ago as well.
