23 Aug 2026 - SHA Day 3: miHoYo Exhibition Hall (米哈游展厅)

As mentioned earlier, this trip to Shanghai was tailored for Jerlene and our first stop today was one of the highlights. We had booked a time slot via WeChat to visit miHoYo Exhibition Hall, which was located on the first floor of one of its office buildings. We took the metro to Guilin Road station and initially intend to take a 5 minutes' walk to reach the office according to the internet. Fortunately, we changed our mind due to the hot weather and decided to call a DiDi ride instead. The car ride itself took about 10 minutes, so we were wondering how it could be 5 minutes on foot.
miHoYo Exhibition Hall is strictly regulated and opens only during weekends and Chinese public holidays. The campus is located in the bustling high-tech tech corridor of Shanghai's Xuhui District. We arrived at about 11am (which was our reserved time slot). Each of us was given a lanyard and a bottle of mineral water before entering the exhibition hall.
For those who do not know miHoYo, they are the masterminds behind popular mobile games such as Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, under their publishing label HoYoverse. They have a massive player base globally and Jerlene is crazy about all these games. Even I myself play Honkai: Star Rail too.
Since 2020, they had won many awards and accolades including Apple Game of the Year, Best Game in Google Play Store, The Game Awards (TGA) Statuettes and PlayStation Partner Awards.
The hall was lined with pristine glass cases holding original character design sketches, environment concept art, and detailed story walls mapping out the lore of those popular games.
The space also features life-sized, high-fidelity character statues, massive weapon replicas, and adorable giant sculptures.
After we finished touring the exhibition hall, we went outdoor to continue exploring the office campus where there were more giant statues of characters from the games.
