Before leaving
miHoYo office, we did a quick search on the internet to see if there was any nearby mall where we could go for our lunch. We found one and quickly called for a DiDi ride. As we were approaching the mall, we saw quite a number of statues depicting characters from HoYoverse games. This was totally unexpected and unplanned. Of course, we went ahead to these statues to have a closer look.
Both Jerlene and I could recognize these characters from Honkai: Star Rail.
There were other statues and sculptures of characters from some anime, comics as well as games.
This place is known as Neo World (元界). Located right within the Caohejing (漕河泾) tech corridor in the Xuhui District, Neo World is Shanghai's first permanently operating, large-scale, metaverse-themed ACG (Anime, Comic, and Games) block. Spanning a 1,900-meter-long corridor near Guilin Park, it blends the digital worlds of China's top gaming companies with real-world urban architecture. Over 20 massive statues and landmarks from hit video games are scattered along the corridor.
The following path from Neo World led us to the mall which we intended to have our lunch at.
