11 Nov 2023 - Kyoto Day 2: Arashiyama main street and Togetsu-kyo Bridge

Our next destination from Kinkaku-ji is Arashiyama (嵐山).  The first thing after alighting from the train was to have some ice-creams.
There were shops around providing Kimono rental service.
Instead of walking on foot, tourists could also travel through the streets by rickshaw.
At one point, we saw the Japanese smallest Rolls-Royce, customized and owned by a Tofu Restaurant owner.
Arashiyama is a pleasant, touristy district in the western outskirts of Kyoto. The area has been a popular destination since the Heian Period (794-1185), when nobles would enjoy its natural setting.  Many small shops, restaurants and other attractions are found nearby, including Tenryuji Temple
The Togetsukyo Bridge (lit. "Moon Crossing Bridge" or 渡月桥) is Arashiyama's most iconic landmark.
It was originally built during the Heian Period (794-1185) and most recently reconstructed in the 1930s. The bridge looks particularly attractive in combination with the forested mountainside in the background.
We crossed the bridge to the other side of the river to continue of exploration of the area.
How many birds can you spot in the following photo?
