With a little research on the Internet, we realized that there is a Kirby Cafe within Tennoji MIO building. Kirby is Javier's favourite character in the Nintendo family. As such, we decided to explore this building but before that, we had our lunch at a nearby Japanese restaurant.
Tennoji MIO is a commercial complex directly connected to JR Tennoji Station. It is divided into two buildings. They are the main building and the plaza building. In each building, there are about 340 discriminating shops of various genres that include brand shops that are popular with tourists, character shops, souvenirs, cosmetics and beauty services, household goods, and groceries and restaurants. We spent most of our time at Level 6 of the building. You will know why after seeing the following photos.
Here we were at the Kirby Cafe Petit. Initially when we saw the word Petit, we simply thought it means the cafe is small. However the moment we entered the shop, we realized it is mainly selling Kirby merchandise and cakes/snacks for takeaway. Now we understand what the word Petit really means.
We spent quite sometimes browsing through all the cute Kirby products displayed in the shop. There are other interesting Themed shops on this level of Tennoji MIO building. One of them is Flower Miffy.
Walking further down we came to a shop with a huge Totoro sitting at the entrance.
There is also a Cat Cafe where we saw a cat trying to catch a rat on a smartphone's screen.
Our next destination was to take a metro to Umeda area.
