18 Nov 2023 - Osaka Day 9: Exploring Umeda Area

Our plan for the afternoon was to visit Umeda, a major transportation hub in Osaka, offering abundant shopping, dining, and lodging options.  The moment we stepped out of the metro station, all we saw were people everywhere.  Very busy district, but at the same, quite happening as well.  At one junction, vehicles from all directions stopped to allow pedestrians to cross the road in any direction.  There were also local talents performing along the street.

We then went into a building and saw a sign "Hankyu Brick Museum".  So we went in to take a look.  Nothing much, just a corridor with some window displays of Lego bricks creations.

From Google Maps, we realized there is an "Animate" shop around, which Jerlene was quite interested in.  As such, we followed the directions from Google LiveView and arrived at the shop.

The shop sells all sorts of comic books and merchandises.

What interest Jerlene were all the merchandises from her favourite anime or games.

This afternoon was pretty cold at about 10°C.  One of the coolest afternoons in this trip.

We continued to explore other interesting sites in Umeda.  One of the landmarks of Umeda is the Hep Five building.  It is a shopping complex with specialty shops geared for young people, with a bright red Ferris Wheel on its roof.

There were also a number of photo spots such as the below in the area.

Just before the sky turned dark, we decided to walk towards Umeda Sky Building, another landmark of Umeda.
