25 Dec 2024 - BKK Day 3 (Khao Yai): 30th km Viewpoint @ Khao Yai National Park

Merry Christmas to ALL!  The first part of our adventure today was to visit Khao Yai National Park.  From our hotel (Lacol), it's a short 10 mins drive to reach the entrance of Khao Yai National Park.  After paying the park entrance fee (200 baht or SGD7.88 per adult), we drove into the National Park and made our first stop at the 30th km Viewpoint.
As we arrived at this picturesque location, we were captivated by the sweeping vistas of rolling hills and verdant forests.  A tall stone marker commemorates Khao Yai National Park becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015. Khao Yai was Thailand's first national park, created in 1962.
The viewpoint looks southward through the central part of Khao Yai National Park towards Khao Phaeng Pha hill. During the rainy season (July to September), early mornings often feature a thick layer of mist in the valley below. At other times, the views across the park are clearer.  Frankly, we did not expect to see such breathtaking views in Thailand.  This is highly recommended for anyone who visits Khao Yai.
