12 Jun 2023 - Perth Day 5: Busselton Jetty and Underwater Observatory

After checking out of Vintages Accommodation Margaret River, we were back at Busselton Jetty.
With the tickets that we bought yesterday, we took the Stocker Preston Express electric jetty train to the far end of the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere.
Along the way, we saw many sea birds and also, some wild dolphins at a distance.
After we alighted the jetty train at the far end, we arrived at an underwater observatory with enormous windows placing you alongside colourful coral, patterned fish and the occasional turtle.
Here we could descend 8 metres below the water's surface to view some of the 300 different marine species sighted.  This is one of only six underwater observatories in the world.
There are six flights of ten stairs within the Observatory however there is a lift which allows access for mobility impaired.  As we descended below the oceans surface, you were led through the natural wonders that lie beneath the Jetty where its piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef host to an inspiring forest of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates.
As the place is not too big, we had ample time to admire the marine life around the jetty.
After exiting the underwater observatory, we waited for the jetty train to pick us up and transport us back to the entrance of Busselton Jetty.
It was pouring on the way back so there wasn't much to see.  We just relaxed and enjoyed the ride.
