13 Jun 2023 - Perth Day 6: Morning Stroll to the Pier

We woke up early this morning as we will be catching a ferry to Rottnest Island.  It felt great to wake up with such a view from our apartment.
As we walked towards the quay, we saw the two lighthouses (one green and one red) that I mentioned in my earlier post.
The early morning stroll to the ferry terminal was very relaxed as we cut through parks in a cool weather.
After walking for about 10 minutes, we reached Victoria Quay Fremantle,
The Port of Fremantle operates through two harbours. The Inner Harbour at Fremantle handles almost all of the container trade for Western Australia. It also provides facilities for livestock exports, motor vehicle imports, other general cargo trades, cruise ships and visiting naval vessels.

The Outer Harbour, about 22km to the south at Kwinana, is one of Australia’s major bulk cargo ports handling grain, petroleum, liquid petroleum gas, alumina, mineral sands, fertilisers, coal, sulphur, iron ore and other bulk commodities.
While we were at Busselton yesterday, I received a SMS from the ferry operator Sealink saying that there was a timing change for our 9:45am ferry due to operational reason.  I was offered to go either on the 9am or 11am ferry.  We decided to go on the 9am ferry as we hoped to have more time exploring Rottnest Island.
As I booked the ferry tickets online, I had the digital boarding passes (with QR codes) in my phone and we went straight to O'Connor Landing at the port where we queued to board the ferry.
